My sweet 2 year old...

My baby is 2! I don't know if I can handle it.
A few things I love about Camden:
His smile... it's from ear to ear and seldom not there.
His laugh... he laughs so loud and it's super contagious.
His hugs... hard to get but when you get one you love it!
His kisses... he loves to give tons of kisses... don't ask for one though, he won't give it to you, you have to wait til he's ready to do it.

I love my Camden, even though he is constantly moving and getting into things, I love him!

Then came June.... HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY CAMDEN

So for those of you that don't know, last year Camden's first birthday was essentially nonexistent. We were in the middle of a huge bathroom demo and remodel that we just did not have the time to celebrate... needless to say he will never have a first birthday cake picture. So due to this, I (as his mother) was feeling VERY guilty. Thus the reason for the way crazy, over the top, second birthday party!
But it was fun and done very well... EL PASO Style!
We had a jumping house, pinata, a friend of mine made animal balloons, we ate carne asada, carnitas, rice, beans and even had a flan. The only thing we were lacking was the DJ... maybe next year. He had a cars cake and extra cupcakes. He also got very spoiled by his friends... lots of cool cars stuff to add to the collection. We had a house full of friends and kids. There is no better way to kick off your summer and celebrate your only boy.

We love you Camden!

Just monkeying around...

After everyone left from visiting for Lynae's Baptism, Mindi and her family stayed a few extra days. We decided it would be fun to go to Monkey Bizness. It was really fun. We laughed so hard! I really love visiting with my baby sister and her kids.... Enjoy some of the pictures!

Lynae's Happy Birthday Party

We celebrated Lynae's birthday! She had a great time turning eight. We took her and a few friends to Build-a-Bear. They all were able to choose an animal, stuff it and name it and even dress it. They were all given a dollar limit and every one of them were great at adding up what they had and only spending that. We then all came back to the house for cake and ice cream. She had a Belle doll cake with pink rose cupcakes (we aren't ever allowed to cut the doll cake). She seemed to have a fun time with her friends. It was a great day.

Eight is GREAT!

The Saturday after Lynae's birthday was Lynae's Baptism. We are so completely proud of Lynae's decision to be baptized. Poppy, Marimom, Aunt Heather, Cousins Cheyenne, Taylin, Aunt Mindi, Uncle Ryan, Cousins Gentri, Harlee and Preston all came into town for the Baptism. Lynae asked Poppy to baptize her and he said he would. It was a really fabulous day! So many of our friends came to the baptism. We set up in the primary room (the stake was using the RS room for other baptisms) and we quickly filled the room. I felt so loved that day to have so many of our friends and family all there to support Lynae in her righteous decision. Lynae was thrilled that so many of her little friends were there. She looked so pretty in her beautiful white dress that her Marimom made for her. The Baptism was great, Aunt Mindi gave a talk on Baptism and Marimom gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. After the Baptism we went back to the house and had a family lunch. Thank you so much to all of our friends and family who came to support us. We love you all!

She has blessed our lives for 8 years--- Sweet Lynae!

I can not believe that our Lynae, our first born, our first princess, our baby we spoiled and took every where is 8 years old. Time has gone by completely too fast! Lynae is a wonderful, sweet, strong, beautiful little girl. I am so proud of all that she does. She is an artist, a dancer, a singer, a writer, a straight 'A' student, a compassionate big sister, a great daughter, mom's helper, and a great friend. We love our Lynae.

Easter...

I guess I should start with Easter. We just stayed in Colorado for this one. We thought maybe we would have a white Easter but the weather actually ended up cooperating and it was pretty nice out. The kids had fun coloring eggs (until Camden decided to take a big sip of one of the cups of egg dye, YUCK!), got spoiled by the easter bunny, hunting for eggs and of course looked adorable in their Easter outfits. I made diner that night, we weren't in the mood so I did a traditional Brisket dinner... YUMMM! It was a great day.

How time gets away, when you're there are 3!

Wow it's been a long time since I have posted. Alot has happened since my last post. Since the end of March we have had Easter, Lynae's 8th Birthday, Lynae's Baptism, My Birthday, Mother's Day, a trip to El Paso and the end of school. It's only been a couple of months but alot to report on. So here we go.....

Presenting the next Martha Stewart:

Yesterday at Brownies, Lynae learned how to do cake decorating. They got to practice by decorating a large heart cookie of their own. I was a proud momma when I went to pick her up. I thought she did a fantastic job, especially since the child has never been allowed to decorate much less frost a cookie/cake before. I told her that since she did such a great job that I would let her help me in our next cookie making and decorating ventures.

It's a SAD SAD time....

If anyone knows me even a little bit, knows that every time I talk about El Paso, Chicos Tacos is usually mentioned. I am in deep sadness knowing that a national historical monument is be bulldozed. It will be greatly and dearly missed. I don't know if I will ever survive a visit to El Paso knowing that this great monument will be gone. I know there are other locations but it is not the same. Chicos on McRae Blvd. was the best place ever, I have memories of Grandpa Mac taking us there and challenging all the grandsons to drink the green salsa, eating there for lunch from Eastwood, going there first thing when anyone came in from out of town, after football game rendezvous, late night snacks and having it brought across country by a loved one. My favorite is a single order with extra cheese and a side of fries with a root beer.... YUMMMM!!!!! Just for those of you who aren't familiar with Chico's its a great little dive in El Paso that serves you rolled tacos in watered down tomato-chili sauce topped with shredded cheese. Their fries were crinkly ones, my favorite. There's just no place like it. The atmosphere was less to be desired, greasy tables, sticky floors, bathrooms you would NEVER use, and most of all you never looked over the counter into the kitchen, and nothing better than when they would serve you your drink by holding it by the rim of the cup, with their bare hands. But really it is the best place EVER! I will miss it and visits to El Paso will never be the same.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WESLEY!!!

March 12th was Wesley's birthday. I would of even posted this yesterday on his actual birthday, but he told me I wasn't allowed to touch my computer yesterday. Anyhow, he took the day off of work so we could go out shopping for his birthday and hang out together. We started our day off with taking the girls to school, then we took his car to get the brakes done (not part of the fun day, just a good oppurtunity to get it done) Then Wesley, Camden and I were off to shop. We went to a couple of different golf stores. At the second one we found him a set of irons, a new bag and a new putter. (can you say SPOILED??!!).

Just a FYI side note... the entire time we were at the stores, Camden went crazy for the clubs and threw about 200 tantrums. He just couldn't understand why we wouldn't let him play with and swing around $800 golf clubs (that's for each, not a set. And No those are not the ones Wesley bought)! I sure didn't want to buy what we broke at this store, it could cost a small fortune. After spending a couple of hours shopping for golf stuff we went to Best Buy and spent his gift certificate from Christmas and then it was time to get the girls from school (time flew by rather fast). After picking up the girls we went to dinner at AJUAA!!, a mexican food place, it's actually one of the best places we have found in the 13 years we've been here.. the best fish tacos ever. Then we went to Coldstone and bought him the most Yummiest cake ever. It's called a Cheesecake named Desire. It is yellow cake layered with cheesecake ice cream with graham cracker crust mix in, with raspberry whipped icing...mmmmmmmmmmmm, good!

Then we headed home to open his other presents (I know you would think golf clubs would be enough) and to enjoy that yummy cake.
I took the girls out the day before to pick out presents for dad, they both had in mind what they wanted to get him. Lynae got him 3 packs of his favorite pens (I think to repay him for the ones she has taken from him) and Reagan picked out a new XBOX 360 Basketball game. Camden gave him 2 pks of his favorite golfballs and I gave him a couple of new t-shirts for the upcoming summer months.

It really was a great day. I hope it was great for him (which I think it was, he couldn't stop saying thanks)
Wesley, I hope you know how much we love and appreciate all the hard work you do for us. I am so truly grateful that I am to be able to be at home with our children. You are a wonderful man, husband and father, which truly deserved to be spoiled. Happy Birthday honey. I love you!

Lightning Mcqueen Rules..according to Camden

So I went to Payless the other day and bought Camden some new shoes. They are Lightning Mcqueen (generic) Crocs. I typically do not buy anything with characters on them but this time I had to. I realized he needed a pair when we were at my friend Becca's house and her daughter, Sabrina has some and Camden insisted on stealing them from her all day long. Well he really does love them. The minute I showed them to him at the store he did a little dance and wanted them on. He also refused to take them off so we could ring them up, luckily the sales lady was accommodating. Since we have bought them they have had little time away from his feet. He makes sure he has them when he takes a nap, ofcourse when we go out and at bedtime. Here are a few pictures of the proud new owner and the shoes.

And the majority says..... YUMMM!

My family has found a new favorite dessert. Wesley has always loved Nutella, but I have never encouraged it due to the fact I don't care for hazelnuts. He has been insisting that the only way and best way to eat it is on croissants. I finally bought him some mini croissants from Sam's. Well needless to say my kids agree. There are maybe 6 croissants left out of the whole box (it was a big box). They had a Nutella and croissant party. Camden's favorite part was licking the Nutella off the croissant. The girls kept saying how yummy it was and that it was like eating a donut. Well so after all the great comments I finally tried it after 15 years of knowing Wesley and his love for his love for this stuff and.... it's good... really sweet but good.

Mullet Free Zone

We finally did it, Camden is now officially mullet free. Wesley finally made me give him a long over due haircut. I wanted to cry when I first put the clippers to his head and the first piece of hair fell. I don't know what it is about first haircuts but I do not do well with them.. hence the reason Lynae was 4 before her first. He was squirmy yet very good. Wesley helped keep him wrangled while I carefully clipped and cut. Here is a series of pictures of the whole ordeal.

Here is Camden before the cut...Happy Boy!

This is just a reminder of the awesome mullet.

This was mid haircut... not Happy Boy!

What a good boy sitting still for mommy to cut his hair!

Here is the final result, not bad for my first little boy haircut. He is so handsome with this haircut.. this is why I hate first haircuts, it makes them look older.
